Albedo discovered quite by accident that his regenerative abilities no longer existed in this place, having pierced the palm of his hand with his own fingernails. Perhaps fascinated by this turn of events and wanting to make sure, or perhaps genuinely wanting to die if the alternative would be living a life separate from Jr., he severed his own arm with the aid of a piece of scrap metal shortly thereafter, and quickly died of blood loss.
He awoke and was greatly infuriated by his continued existence, albeit in a slightly different form. He discovered the network a short time later, and absorbed what information he could.
